My name is Chris Dumoulin, and I decided that it would be a good idea to arrange my first event in 2010, where I invited talented musicians to perform at a football club in Hertfordshire, to help raise as much money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Busking Cancer is a voluntary event in aid of Cancer Research that was established in 2007. Planning for the event was a tough task, and even on the day some people were unable to make it to the event. This said, the day was a dream come true, and without all of the generous helpers & performers it wouldn't of been such a success. A huge thank you goes to all of those who helped out on the day. Not only the performers that gave up their time to perform for free, but the volunteers that also spent the day helping in any way possible to make the day run as smoothly as it did. So, 4/5 years on, I decided it was time for round 2.
I got in touch with Stacey from Cancer Research, to see if it was possible. There hadn't been any official events run by Cancer Research UK since 2011, but gladly I was given permission to organise another event using the 'Busking Cancer' branding. This time round, the event is being held at a larger football stadium. I wanted to incorporate football into the day as well, so there will be a football tournament running during the day too. The next event is on Sunday 24th May 2015 at The Harlow Arena, Elizabeth Way, Harlow, Essex, CM19 5BE. More information on the event can be found by visiting the PRE-SALE Ticket Registration page, where you will be able to register for discounted ticket and find some FAQ's too. Thankfully I have different people in charge of different areas this year, and each of those are doing a brilliant job.
